Joyce German is a South Sudanese Canadian Jazz Saxophonist & Vocalist. She plays with numerous bands in the city and is one of the many great young & uprising jazz musicians in Winnipeg’s Jazz Scene. She enjoys creating music with African influences with Jazz. As well as incorporating South Sudanese traditional songs in her compositions. When not performing, Joyce is a devoted student in her last year at the Desautels faculty of music. Expect to see more African music, specifically South Sudanese, in Joyce’s career path.

Miranda Currie is a northern Indigenous multi-disciplinary artist living in Yellowknife. She walks in two worlds, with one foot in her Swampy Cree heritage and the other foot in her Euro-Canadian ancestry. Her mission is to create authentic northern indigenous music, film and books that are accessible to all children and families. Using music and the land, she helps young people connect to indigenous language and culture.

Jamie Thomas was born and raised in the village of Snuneymuxw. Raised in the teachings of family with a foundation in respect, self-sufficiency and helping one another with shared responsibilities and accountability to all. Moving forward, Jamie plans on using the tools of the society and continuing in a good way.

About Snuneymuxw First Nation

The Snuneymuxw are a vibrant First Nation of the Coast Salish People, residing in the centre of Coast Salish territory on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, with villages on the Fraser River and waterways in the Gulf Islands. Snuneymuxw territory encompasses one of the most productive and resource rich areas at the heart of the Salish Sea.

Since time immemorial, the Snuneymuxw People have resided in Snuneymuxw Territory as the first peoples, sustaining their lands, resources, and cultural and spiritual way of life.

Samir has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree (Accounting) from the University of Waterloo. He is the CEO of a private equity firm in Vancouver and a public real estate investment trust. He has previously served as Chairman of the Economic Planning Board for Canada and on the Board of FOCUS Canada.

He and his wife Sheena have three children.

A Chemical Engineer and MBA from Mumbai, India, Xerxes is the Commercial Manager for Cargill Bioindustrial managing the business in Canada. An outdoor enthusiast, he has been on mountain climbing and rock-climbing camps in the Himalayas.

As a volunteer, Xerxes has served as the President of Ontario Zoroastrian Community Foundation (OZCF). He is also a practicing Mobed (priest) and performs various ceremonies for the community.

Xerxes moved to Canada and lives in Mississauga, Ontario along with his wife and their 2 children.

Britta B. is a Toronto based award-winning artist, poet, entertainer, and educator. Her work has featured in notable spheres such as The Walrus Talks, TEDx, as well as international literature festivals like Women of the World Poetry Slam and LitFest Bergen. Her debut poetry collection, Wires that Sputter, will be released Spring 2023.

Brontae Hunter (she/her) is a singer, songwriter and actress based in Tiohtià:ke (aka Montréal). Following in the footsteps of her Mom, who was a folk and country singer, Brontae spent her childhood singing bluegrass and Irish music with family and friends. As an adolescent, she began touring with an acoustic jazz quartet; discovering her love for swinging music and improvisation. She graduated from the acting program at The National Theatre School of Canada in 2020, and subsequently released her début studio album and audio play, The Jubilant Opus of the Day in 2021. She now splits her time between her local jazz scene in Montréal, and her alternative rock project, Gardenia Blue.

Canadian songwriter, Delaney Rose, who is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is an inspiring, positive and engaging troubadour whose music has been shaped by challenging life experiences, which have transformed her creative spirit into a songsmith who delivers memorable melodies of hope and healing energy. Her genuine storytelling, passion- filled performances and universal wisdom resonates deeply with her audiences.

Delaney Rose has performed at many important events like performing her original song “I’m A Canadian” at the Winter Olympics Torch Run February 2010 at Ft Langley, as well as performing this song at the swearing in of new Canadian at the main Courthouse in downtown Vancouver.

In 2016, Delaney Rose, has established an important nonprofit society here in British Columbia, called “Just Believe Foundation” and running it as the Executive Director. This nonprofit society focus is mentoring all arts for all ages.

Mama, friend, “cereal” entrepreneur, cake queen, granola goddess. Now, intuitive business coach and travel advisor, April loves helping other entrepreneurs in their first years of startup – to support and guide them through the bumps and hurdles that come along. She supports entrepreneurs through the transition phase of leaving their full-time jobs and dipping their feet (or diving in headfirst) into the world of self-employment. April’s others become more brave and empowered to travel solo and explore the world while at the same time, coming more into their own expressed self (away from the stresses and distractions of home) in a safe yet adventurous way.
